Hope River Paddle -April 27, 2024

 
Paddles take place rain or shine unless unsafe (e.g. strong winds or thunderstorms. Free for members but membership and registration are REQUIRED.

MUST register for club membership HERE: CCECanoeKayak.rampregistrations.com. Create an account if you don't already have one. Register as a participant. Choose Recreational Membership.

People who need boats for the Hope River paddle meet at the boathouse at 9 am to load your boat to transport to the Scouts Hall  

We will meet at the parking lot of the Scouts Hall and plan to be on the water by 10 am.

Please indicate whether or not you need equipment when you register.  Those that need equipment please meet at the boathouse 30 minutes before the Cultus Lake paddles to load your boat. We will transport the boats to Entrance Bay. Paddlers need to be able to transport their own boat to the location of each paddle. If your vehicle doesn't have roof racks please purchase foam roof top kayak carriers and either straps or rope to tie the boat on. There will be help to learn to safety tie the boat onto your car. Separate arrangements will be made to pick up boats for paddles elsewhere.

If there are no registrations the morning of the event, or if the conditions are unsafe, the paddle may be cancelled. Please call or text Teena at (604)-316-7062 you are not sure.

Youth under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, over the age of 18 who is also a CCE member in good standing and paddles competently.

This is a meet-up paddling group - the leader/ coordinator is not an instructor. You are responsible for your own safety on the water and must have adequate skills. BEGINNERS and new members are required to take a lesson BEFORE attending a meet-up Paddle to ensure you have adequate paddling skills and are able to exit the boat safely.
