Adult learn to kayak Course (September)

If you are brand new to kayaking then this course of 4 lessons at Cultus Lake is for you! Learn the basics of on-water safety, how to exit the boat if you flip over, how to paddle forwards in a straight line and steer using different paddle strokes. These lessons are targeted to ages 16 and older, however families are also welcome to register to learn together (youth <16yo may only register if they are taking part in the lesson with an adult parent or guardian). This is a 1 hour lesson 6.00-7.00pm on the water. 

All paddling equipment (kayak, PFD, paddle) will be provided at the CCE boathouse, but you are welcome to bring your own.

After your lessons you can take join our free meet-up paddling group. We paddle Cultus Lake every Wednesday and elsewhere on Saturday mornings (Hope Slough, Chilliwack Lake, Harrison River, Lightening Lake and elsewhere. Paddles run April to October (equipment provided). Please dress for the weather and expect to get wet. Part of this lesson will be a wet-exit practice. Bring a towel and a change of clothes. See you at the lake!
