Whitewater skills level 1 (ADULT)

Discover the fun of whitewater kayaking! This set of lessons is suitable for adults who want to progress from lake paddling to river (whitewater) kayaking. Level 1 Whitewater

This lesson set is suitable for adults can confidently paddle a kayak in a straight line on the lake and can perform basic steering strokes on flatwater. You should also be confortable with a wet exit (tipping over and exiting the boat when it is upside down). The first lessons will be at Cultus Lake to review these basics and to practice whitewater essentials such as T-rescues. The remaining lessons in the set will be on the river. If you have not had lessons with us before but want to join this course PLEASE EMAIL US with details of your current paddling experience/ previous courses etc, so we can ensure this lesson set is a good fit for your current needs.

Schedule: once a week for 6 weeks: Saturday morning 9-10.30am

All equipment provided (kayak, helmet, paddle, PFD, spray skirt)

Safety is our #1 priority - there will be a maximum student: instructor ratio of 6:1 on the river. 

All river paddles are weather, skills and water-level dependent.

COST $180 for 6 lessons ($210 if equipment is needed) PLUS club membership $45. Total $225 ($255 with equipment and membership)
