Lake Kayak Intro / Refresher lessons (Adult)

If you are brand new to kayaking or a veteran wanting a little review of the basics of kayaking then our Friday evening lessons at Cultus Lake are for you! Learn the basics of on-water safety, how to exit the boat if you flip over, how to paddle forwards in a straight line and steer using different paddle strokes. Sign up for one lesson or sign up for multiple - your choice! These lessons are targeted to ages 16 and older, however families are also welcome to register to learn together (youth <16yo may only register if they are taking part in the lesson with an adult parent or guardian). 

This is a 1 hour lesson the water. Make careful note of the TIME of the lesson you are booking as well as the date

All paddling equipment (kayak, PFD, paddle) will be provided at the CCE boathouse, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Once you have completed a lesson club members can take part in our free meet-up paddles at Cultus Lake 1-2 x per week from April to October (equipment provided). Check out our website (ccekayak.com) for more details.

Membership required: pay for membership with lesson registration and your first lesson is only $5!

Adult club membership is $45/yr (Youth $25, Senior $35, Family $100) and includes access to equipment for all club events.

Please dress for the weather and expect to get wet. Part of this lesson will be a wet-exit practice. Bring a towel and a change of clothes. See you at the lake!

COVID-19 update: safety is our number one concern. All equipment is disinfected between participants and social distancing will be practiced on the water except where it would be unsafe to do so for emergency management.
