Learn to Kayak Rivers SUMMER CAMP (10-16 years)
|Date||2021 Aug 09-13|
|Location||Cultus Lake & Chilliwack River|
|Address||Pavillion Rd, 76 Sunnyside Blvd, Cultus Lake, V2R4Y5|
COVID-19 update: safety is our number one concern. Our group sizes are small (max 4 youth per instructor on the river) which enables physical distancing, all equipment is disinfected between participants and social distancing will be practiced on the water except where it would be unsafe to do so for emergency management.
Do you want to learn to kayak on the river? Register in our Learn to Kayak Rivers Summer Camp on the Chilliwack River!
Schedule: 9am-3pm Mon-Fri
All paddling equipment provided but you will need to provide your own lunch and come prepared for full days on the water/ in the sun.
What will I learn? Introductory kayak skills to paddle safely on the river.
Pre-requisite: Learn to Kayak camp (or equivalent): must demonstrate an ability to paddle a kayak in a straight line on flatwater and calmly perform a wet-exit. This camp is run by experienced and highly qualified instructors with a strong focus on safety.
To ensure the safety of the group, the maximum student:instructor ratio will be 4:1 and there will be two instructors paddling on the river at all times.
The first day or two of the camp is on Cultus Lake to review basic paddling skills and safety, then we move to the river for the rest of the week (we typically take beginners on the lower section between Vedder Bridge and Yarrow).
Target Age Range: 10-14yrs but youth aged 15-16 are also welcome
Camp cost: $250.00 ($225 club members)
