Whitewater skills (level 2-3 ADULT)

COVID-19 update: safety is our number one concern. All equipment is disinfected between participants and social distancing will be practiced on the water except where it would be unsafe to do so for emergency management.
This 6 week program is suitable for level 2-3 ADULTS who want to improve their whitewater kayaking skills.
LEVEL 2 Intermediate: You are comfortable with basic wet exits and T-rescues and have started to develop your roll. You have been introduced to the concept of tilt/ angle and speed for entering and exiting eddies and have mastered the basic paddle strokes required to manoever on the river. You have experience paddling easy (up to grade 2) sections of the river.
LEVEL 3 Advanced: You have a reliable roll and are comfortable paddling up to grade 3 rivers
Schedule: Thursday evenings 5-6.30pm - focused on improving kayak stroke technique using slalom gates (6 lessons ending Oct 15th)
Sunday mornings 1.00pm-2.30pm - focused on river running skills (6 lessons ending Oct 25th - no lesson on Thanksgiving Sunday 11th Oct),
Plus you are welcome to join us for a fun end of season "Cookie Race" Saturday 24th October at our Cedarwahl Farms race site.
All equipment provided (kayak, helmet, paddle, PFD, spray skirt)
Safety is our #1 priority - there will be a maximum student: instructor ratio of 4:1 on the river. All river paddles are weather, skills and water-level dependent.
Club membership required: $40 (adult) $30 (senior).
6 lessons Thursday or Sunday only: $120
12 lessons Thursday and Sunday: $180
