Whitewater skills (level 3 youth)

• Level 3 Saturdays (2020 Sep 12-Oct 17)

COVID-19 update: safety is our number one concern. All equipment is disinfected between participants and social distancing will be practiced on the water except where it would be unsafe to do so for emergency management. Please note that we will not be teaching the kayak roll until further notice, due to social distancing policies.

These lessons are suitable for youth aged 10-16 who want to improve their whitewater kayaking skills. LEVEL 3 Advanced: for youth who know how to roll and can paddle up to grade 3 rivers

Before registering please check with your instructor whether you should be in level 2 or level 3 classes  

Schedule: 

Thursday evenings 5-6.30pm - focused on kayak technique using slalom gates

Saturday mornings 9.00am-10.30pm - focused on river running skills

End of season "Cookie Race" Saturday October 24th at Cedarwahl Farms

All equipment provided (kayak, helmet, paddle, PFD, spray skirt)

Safety is our #1 priority - there will be a maximum student: instructor ratio of 4:1 on the river. All river paddles are weather, skills and water-level dependent.

Club membership required: $25.

COST

6 lessons plus Race: $105 (Saturdays only)

12 lessons plus Race: $180 (Thursday and Saturday)
