Do you want to learn to paddle whitewater? Do you want to scratch a competitive itch? Learn to race slalom! Slalom paddling will teach you skills that will help you navigate the hardest rapids on the river, in a fun, safe environment. Seasonal program athletes are scheduled for 2 (Learn to Train) or 3 (Train to Train) training sessions per week for 10 weeks in Spring (April/ May/June) and fall (September/October/ November) with options to compete at the BC Summer Games and/or Canadian Nationals
Cost for the Learn to Train (2 sessions per week: 20 sessions in Spring and 20 sessions in fall) program is $600 payable in two installments of $300 in spring and fall.
The seasonal program is targeted to Train to Train and Learn to Train athletes who are just starting out in slalom paddling, working towards BC Summer Games or participation in Canadian Nationals. Target Age: 12-16yrs (note: to compete in 2020 BC Summer Games youth must be born in 2004/2005/2006/2007). Younger and older youth that have completed a "learn to kayak" camp or seasonal program, and wishing to make the commitment to learn how to paddle slalom, are also welcome to apply. Payment can be made by Cheque, Paypal or by E-transfer (For E-transfer please tick "other" and contact us for details).
